Shan Riggs
Shan is a 45-year-old ultramarathon runner and sponsorship marketing professional. He's completed 53 ultramarathon races—winning several—and has more than 20 years of sponsorship consulting experience, working with major brands and properties of all types. Shan has also run several multi-day expeditions all over the world raising money and awareness for a variety of charities. In 2020 Shan ran 3,255 miles from San Francisco to the Connecticut coast, nearly 40 miles a day, raising awareness and over $45,000 for Foodshare. In 2022 Shan ran the entire length of the East Coast Greenway (2960 miles in 78 days) with bike support from his wife, Josh, raising nearly $20,000 and bringing awareness to the East Coast Greenway Alliance.
Joshuaine Grant
Josh is a 52-year old cyclist, ultrarunner, mom, and scientist. She studied biophysics and biochemistry and works for Certara, providing mathematical modeling support to pharma and biotech clients. Josh has been cycling for decades and has shared hundreds of miles with friends and her two sons, Cooper and Isaac. She had always dreamed of cycling across the country and has been actively making it happen since meeting Shan in 2020. They have covered over 5000 miles together, often with Shan running and Josh towing their gear in a trailer. Their "big" expeditions include the Erie Canalway Trail in 2021, the East Coast Greenway in 2022, and the Pacific Coast Bicycle Route in 2023.
